Treasure Island Cruise & Casino

   


Friday, June 15
Start your day with a deluxe motor coach ride to Treasure Island Resort & Casino where you will receive a $3 food coupon for a snack. After a few attempts at “winning,” we will board the Spirit of the Water, a 125-passenger, air-conditioned luxury cruise liner, for a delicious buffet lunch. Buffet includes entrée, vegetable, salad bar, dessert, coffee or tea. A cash bar is also available. Sit back and enjoy the beauty of the Mississippi River. Following the cruise, you will return to the casino where you can play or relax. We will need your Player’s
Card number or date of birth at registration. Trip includes motor
coach transportation, buffet and $3 food coupon. $49/members, $59/non-members. Leave the Heritage Center at
9 a.m., return at 5:30 p.m. Sign up with payment by Friday,

First stop on this trip is lunch at the Chickadee Cottage Café in Lake City which includes: old-fashioned chicken salad with grapes, almonds and ring pasta in a delectable creamy dressing, fresh fruit, homemade nut bread, beverage and a dessert. Enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Pepin and the Mississippi River aboard Pearl of the Lake, a modern-day replica of the grand riverboats that traveled the Mississippi River in the 1800s. Learn about the history and take in the natural beauty of the river valley. You will also hear how environmental factors impact our Great Mississippi River. Leave the Heritage Center at 9:15 a.m., return at 4 p.m. 

Firefighters Museum & Betty Danger's Country Club 


Thursday, August 16
First stop is the Minneapolis Firefighters Hall & Museum where you will get a guided tour. See the premier museum in the upper Midwest dedicated to presenting and preserving the history of firefighting. This volunteer-run museum contains a variety of vehicles, equipment, literature and photographs related to firefighting and firefighters in over 12,000 square feet of air conditioned space. See an 1865 operating hand pumper, an 1894 Waterous steam fire engine, a 1919 American LaFrance Ladder Truck from Mankato, a 1932 FWD pumper built by the Minneapolis Fire Department shop and other historic firefighting
apparatus and equipment. Next enjoy lunch at Betty Danger’s Country Club consisting of two ground beef hard shell tacos, black beans, Mexican rice, lemon bars and coffee. After lunch take a whirl on the Danger Ferris wheel and play some mini golf. $62/members, $72/non-members. Leave the Heritage Center at 8:45 a.m. and return at 3:30 p.m. Sign up with payment by Monday, July 16.
