Hamburg Avenue Improvement Project
The City’s Capital Improvement Plan includes improvements to Hamburg Avenue (from Lakeville Boulevard to 202nd Street/County Road 50) in 2019. Proposed improvements include roadway widening and reconstruction, construction of new concrete curb and gutter, installation of storm sewer and watermain, and construction of new sidewalks/trails.
- Phase 1: April 22-June 30, 2019 (205th Street to 400’ south of 202nd Street)
Beginning April 22, Hamburg Avenue will be reduced to one lane and closed to through traffic between 205th Street and 202nd Street. Phase 1 improvements include installation of watermain, water services and storm sewer, and street construction, including paving the first lift of asphalt.
- Phase 2: June 30-August 30, 2019 (Lakeville Boulevard to 205th Street)
Phase 2 improvements will begin after paving the first lift of asphalt on Phase 1. Phase 2 improvements include reclaiming the existing asphalt and underlying aggregate and paving the first lift of asphalt. Hamburg Avenue will remain open to traffic; however, the roadway will remain gravel for periods of time. The final lift of asphalt and trail construction, between Lakeville Boulevard and 400’ south of 202nd Street is scheduled to be completed in August.
